D\ufeffavid Warner<\/a> has unleashed on his critics, labelling the speculation surrounding his retirement date "sickening" on the eve of Australia's World Cup<\/a> campaign.<\/p>\n

Warner has been written off by many experts over the past 12 months, but has found his best form ahead of the ODI World Cup, boosting Australia's chances of winning the tournament.<\/p>\n

The 36-year-old has smacked 390 runs at an average of 43.33 and a strike rate of 119.26 in nine ODI innings this year, including three straight half-centuries in a recent three-match series against India.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Fox Cricket ahead of the World Cup, Warner hit out at those calling for his time in the Australian team to come to an end.<\/p>\n

"I just can't wait to finish and then they'll have to find someone else's name to use as clickbait," he said.<\/p>\n

"It's incredible. To be honest \u2013 if I'm being brutally honest, it's actually been sickening.<\/p>\n

"And that's why I always put it back to the team. It's about the team. It's not about me and what I'm doing.<\/p>\n

"For me, it's about going out there and trying to put my best foot forward and playing to the best of my ability to put the team in a good position.<\/p>\n

"That's why I gave an end date. Because that's when I'm ending \u2013 that's when I intend to end.<\/p>\n

"It's when I intend to go home and spend some time with the family and live life."\ufeff<\/p>\n

The uptick in Warner's form is central to why Australian coach Andrew McDonald<\/a> is bullish about his team's World Cup chances.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffI don't think it (Warner's form) ever left," he said.<\/p>\n

"What we're seeing at the moment is a guy that's really engaged around the challenge of winning a World Cup.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffIf you'd asked me about two weeks ago I'd have been worried, but now it seems to have come together nicely."<\/p>\n
