after capitulation<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The only problem was the lane number placed on Lin&#x27;s hip, 6, came together with the lane number sitting on Wu&#x27;s side, 4, to form the number 64.<\/p>\n<p>In Chinese culture, the number 64 is infamous because on June 4, 1989 Beijing&#x27;s Tiananmen Square massacre took place.<\/p>\n<p>The photo of Lin and \ufeffWu spread on Chinese social media, but censors have since worked hastily to block out the numbers and are being condemned for censorship.\ufeff<\/p>\n<p><img data-id=\"0491a656-c00b-4f12-936b-96bd2bfbb484\" src=\"https:\/\/prod.static9.net.au\/fs\/0491a656-c00b-4f12-936b-96bd2bfbb484\" alt=\"China&#x27;s Lin Yuwei, left, hugs compatriot Wu Yanni at the 2023 Asian Games.\" data-width=\"1396\" data-height=\"785\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Even before the running of the women&#x27;s 100-metre hurdles final, the event was shrouded in controversy.<\/p>\n<p>A false start led to Wu and India&#x27;s \ufeffJyothi Yarraji being red-carded.<\/p>\n<p>As Wu insisted that Yarraji had moved first and she had not, Yarrajai argued that she \ufeffhad not false-started.<\/p>\n<p>A replay then confirmed that Wu was the only athlete who&#x27;d\ufeff committed a false start.<\/p>\n<p>Wu continued to protest, before reaching a compromise with officials.<\/p>\n<p>\ufeff&quot;You can run if you want to, but it will be under review,&quot; an official told her.<\/p>\n<p>When the race eventually ran its course, Wu finished second, but the review resulted in her being disqualified.\ufeff<\/p>\n<p>&quot;I am very sorry that I was disqualified due to a false start,&quot;
