F\ufeffootball<\/a> superstar David Beckham<\/a> has given an extraordinary insight into the infamous boot incident that divided him and coaching father figure Sir Alex Ferguson.<\/p>\n

Tensions were already simmering between the two in 2003 with Ole Gunnar Solskj\u00e6r battling for Beckham's starting spot.<\/p>\n

Defeat to Arsenal in the FA Cup on February 15 left Ferguson furious, with Beckham and a number of other people in the changing room recounting the incident on the new Netflix documentary, Beckham<\/em>.<\/p>\n

"From what I remember we lost against Arsenal\ufeff, we walked into the changing room and the boss is fuming, I could see by the boss's face," Beckham said.<\/p>\n

"And when you see the boss's face like this, you don't want to be anywhere near him … it's a face that no one can (imitate)."<\/p>\n

In the change rooms, Ferguson unleashed his fury on a number of Manchester United<\/a> players, namely the English superstar.<\/p>\n

Beckham wasn't impressed though, proceeding to argue with his manager.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"'Look at the video' David says, Sir Alex (says) 'I don't need a f—ing video, I've got my eyes, I remember'," Solskj\u00e6r recounted.<\/p>\n

Then Beckham made a devastating mistake. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"And then I swore, I said the f word, \ufeffand then I saw him change. And I was like shit, I really shouldn't have said that," he said.<\/p>\n

Teammate, now pundit, Gary Neville added: \ufeff"We all did it once. I think every player that was with Sir Alex for a while \ufeffmaybe told him to f— off once and you didn't do it again."<\/p>\n

Then, ironically, \ufeffSolskj\u00e6r's lonely boot became part of history as confirmed by Ferguson.<\/p>\n

"I kicked the boot, hit him in the head, I mean honestly it was an absolute freak (accident)," he said.<\/p>\n

Beckham confirmed he checked for blood after the incident \ufeffbefore he had to be held back by teammates.<\/p>\n

The controversy didn't stop there as Beckham was photographed with stitches in the following days.<\/p>\n

United's kit man from 1996 to 2013, Albert Morgan, believed the star "stage managed" \ufeffthe aftermath.<\/p>\n

"I'm not going to talk about that … the only thing I'll say about that is I think that was stage managed, like I said it wasn't even worth a stitch," he said.<\/p>\n

Beckham refuted that though. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"I remember a player coming up to me that week and saying \ufeffthe boss has turned around to the doctor and said he's been making it worse, and I wasn't, I wasn't," he said.<\/p>\n

In a press conference after the incident, Ferguson said Beckham didn't have stitches immediately and it was simply a "graze".<\/p>\n
