Penrith<\/a> have lost one of their best young prospects – and a member of their grand final squad – on the eve of the big game, to Newcastle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speedy winger Tom Jenkins, who scored five tries in his five top grade appearances for the club this season, has agreed to a two-year deal with the Knights.<\/p>\n

Jenkins is in the Panthers' 22-man squad for tomorrow's big game but is given little chance of playing unless there is a late injury.<\/p>\n

But the 22-year-old from Boorowa in the NSW country is one of the club's best young prospects and was seen as a future first grader by Penrith officials.<\/p>\n

The Knights have signed the youngster as a possible replacement for tryscoring ace Dominic Young, who has signed with the Sydney Roosters for 2024.<\/p>\n

Jenkins made his top grade debut late last season and handled himself well in a win over the Cowboys.<\/p>\n
