Cricket<\/a> Australia has handed\ufeff Matthew Wade<\/a> a two-game ban after the veteran slammed his bat into the pitch during Tasmania's Marsh Cup match against Victoria on Monday.<\/p>\n

The former Test player was seen angrily slamming his bat on the ground after a straight drive failed to pierce the gap in the field and was stopped by an opponent.<\/p>\n

Wade, who remains in the frame to be part of Australia's T20I squad for a five-match series against India in India at the conclusion of the ODI World Cup, made 25 off 51 balls, with Victoria going on to record a three-wicket win.<\/p>\n

Compounding the loss, Cricket Australia announced they'd suspended him for two games for "abuse of equipment".<\/p>\n

It was Wade's third "Level 1" breach of the Cricket Australia Code of Conduct in the last 18 months and his second suspension.<\/p>\n

If he cops a fourth breach in the 18-month period, he faces a year-long ban.<\/p>\n

During that time he has been hit with two charges of equipment abuse, and one charge relating to the use of an audible obscenity.<\/p>\n

He will will miss Tasmania's next two Marsh Cup games – against NSW at Junction Oval in Melbourne on Wednesday, and against South Australia on October 8.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
