N\ufeffRL legend Phil Gould<\/a> has revealed a Maroons<\/a> tactic that could prove the difference in this year's grand final.<\/p>\n

The Billy Slater<\/a> led side sealed the State of Origin<\/a> series in the first two games and managed to upset an attack that featured Panthers trio \ufeffJarome Luai, Nathan Cleary and Isaah Yeo. Albeit Cleary missed the second game.<\/p>\n

Yeo was then dropped to the bench for the third game after Queensland managed to nullify his influence and Gould believes the Broncos should attempt to use the same tactics employed by Slater. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"One of the real keys to the Panthers attack and why it functions so beautifully is \ufeffthe way Isaah Yeo commands the middle part of the field as a lock forward with his ball playing, linking up with both Luai and Cleary," he said on Nine's 100% Footy<\/em>.<\/p>\n

"I thought Queensland did a really good job on him in the first couple of Origins, cutting down his time and space.<\/p>\n

"Isaah's a very dominant player and he's a very experienced player but \ufeffhe's also still conservative, he doesn't push passes, he doesn't like to make mistakes.<\/p>\n

"So if you get up on him quickly he'll tend to err on the side of caution. (However), Panthers have become really good at actually playing off the back of that. If he decides to run or short pass rather than out the back they're good at setting up and going again."<\/p>\n

Despite the Panthers' ability to adjust, Gould still thinks pressuring Yeo is the tactic the Broncos should apply, describing it as a potentially "crucial part" of Sunday's grand final.<\/p>\n

"I'm just wondering whether or not the Broncos players would've learned out of what happened in Origin and what Billy Slater had them doing in pressuring Isaah Yeo to limit his impact on the game," he added.<\/p>\n
