A\ufeffustralia<\/a> has suffered a d\u00e9j\u00e0 vu moment in its second ODI match<\/a> against India<\/a>, with Sean Abbott<\/a> denied a catch by the third umpire.<\/p>\n

India were 1\/212 in the 31st over when Shreyas Iyer hit the ball back to Abbott off his own bowling, an over after bringing up his hundred.<\/p>\n

Abbott claimed the wicket with Iyer walking towards the pavilion, however third umpire Karumanaseri Narayanaiyer Ananthapadmanabhan proceeded to look closely at the incident.<\/p>\n

Footage showed Abbott planted the ball on the ground after taking the catch, with Iyer walking back to the crease following a not out verdict.<\/p>\n

The incident mirrored Mitchell Starc's moment in The Ashes<\/a> when it looked as if he'd caught Ben Duckett at fine leg.<\/p>\n

\ufeffHowever, the ball touched the ground while in Starc's hand meaning Duckett was called back.<\/p>\n

Former Australian wicketkeeper Brad Haddin described it as "amazing" to have seen two similar incidents so close together.<\/p>\n

"It's amazing we've seen that twice in a couple of months from Australia – Mitchell Starc in the Ashes and we know the controversy that created and now Sean Abbott," \ufeffhe said on Fox Cricket.<\/p>\n

"He moved beautifully to his right and just used that ball to set himself to get up when he wasn't in complete control. Great effort to create the chance but the attention to detail from Australia just let them down a bit there."<\/p>\n
