B\ufeffrisbane<\/a> coach Chris Fagan<\/a> was in no mood to speak about his rival ahead of Saturday's AFL<\/a> preliminary final.<\/p>\n

The Lions host Carlton<\/a> at the Gabba \ufeffto play for a spot in the competition's big dance next week.<\/p>\n

An interesting sidenote to the penultimate premiership clash is the man in the Blues box, Michael Voss<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Voss is a Brisbane legend, having spent his entire AFL career in the city, playing 289 games for the Bears and Lions while winning three premierships and a Brownlow Medal along the way. He also coached the Lions from 2009 to 2013. <\/p>\n

Now he returns to the Queensland capital trying to break the hearts of those who once chanted his name.\ufeff<\/p>\n

And while one reporter at Friday's press conference saw it as an interesting angle ahead of Saturday night, Fagan wanted no part in it.<\/p>\n

"I'm not going to answer any questions about Michael Voss, I don't know Michael Voss other than to say hello to him," the Lions coach bit back.<\/p>\n

"What are you asking me about him for?\ufeff"<\/p>\n

\"MELBOURNE,<\/p>\n

While Voss only won 43 of 109 games in charge of Brisbane, he has managed to turn the Blues into a premiership contender this year.<\/p>\n

They finished fifth on the ladder and then rolled the Swans and Demons to book a spot in this week's preliminary final blockbuster.<\/p>\n

\ufeffFagan cooled down long enough to pay credit to the Carlton coach, but maintained he wasn't interested in speaking at length about Voss.<\/p>\n

"I can understand people's interest in that, that's something that might excite people's imaginations I guess," he said.<\/p>\n

\"MELBOURNE,<\/p>\n

"But we're playing Carlton, not Michael Voss.<\/p>\n

"He is a champion of our club, no doubt about that. He's done a great job with that (Carlton) team this year.<\/p>\n

"I'm really pleased for him, because he was under the pump, and I hate it when I see coaches under the pump.<\/p>\n

"But it's not a topic of conversation in our hallways, it's more an interest that people outside our club have.\ufeff"<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
