Sydney Roosters<\/a> coach Trent Robinson<\/a> was visibly irate and club legend Brad Fittler<\/a> was confused after referee Ashley Klein had to apologise for a call \ufeffmade in the side's elimination final with the Storm<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Melbourne managed to have a contentious decision go their way in \ufeffthe first half after a Harry Grant fumble wasn't picked up.<\/p>\n

Sam Walker produced a kick in attacking territory which \ufeffwas knocked back by the Roosters before Grant claimed the ball in the air.<\/p>\n

Footage then showed \ufeffthe hooker touched the ball and was unable to regather it before it hit the ground, which should've been a scrum to the Roosters.<\/p>\n

"Ashley, what are you looking at?!" Brad Fittler said in commentary for Nine, before cameras panned to Trent Robinson blowing up in the box.<\/p>\n

"Obviously something different to Robbo," Cameron Smith replied.<\/p>\n

"They got away with one there, the Storm."<\/p>\n

During the stoppage for the try, Klein approached Roosters skipper James Tedesco and apologised.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Post-game, Tedesco couldn't remember what Klein said after the incident before Robinson interjected and confirmed he did.<\/p>\n

The Roosters skipper wasn't impressed with the decision though.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"He (Klein) just said he called it as he saw it, I was 30 metres away and could see that he dropped it, I think he was right there," he said in the press conference.<\/p>\n

"It's hard when you can't really have a conversation on the run when you're at the back \ufeffand you can't really stop play and run up … I think it was pretty obvious, I think everyone saw it was a knock on."<\/p>\n

\ufeffRobinson also expressed his frustrations.<\/p>\n

"It was\ufeff pretty clear that it was dropped, he was right there, it hit the ground, what can you do?," he said.<\/p>\n

"It was an error \ufeffand then they went down the other end and scored; but we should've also stopped that; but that would've been a tryscoring opportunity to us 10 metres out from the line and in finals games they're always critical."<\/p>\n

Melbourne Storm coach Craig Bellamy agreed that Grant did knock on.<\/p>\n

"I thought Harry did drop that ball and that was a big call or a big non call. But having said that, it's hard to blame the referee for everything. He's got touch judges and guys in the Bunker and that sort of stuff," he said. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
