However, it was something else that the doctors picked up on that made everything else seem irrelevant.<\/p>\n "A large growth was found on my right ovary."\ufeff<\/p>\n Treatment for ovarian cancer can impact a woman's ability to fall pregnant.<\/p>\n Fortunately, Titmus' two tumours weren't cancerous, however, she relayed her fears of infertility.<\/p>\n https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CxNBtXwrXEU\/?utm_source=ig_embed&<\/a><\/p>\n "For anyone that knows me, they'd know I'd give up anything in the world to be a mother, it's my biggest dream," she wrote.<\/p>\n "So this was a scary time for me.<\/p>\n "In these moments you think of the worst-case scenario, and I was petrified of potentially \ufefflosing the ovary or there being implications that could affect me and my desire to have children one day.<\/p>\n Timus reflected on her \ufeffhigh-performance mindset that made her feel "immune" to such women's health concerns.<\/p>\n "Being an athlete is tough. Being a woman is tough. In the past month I've learnt more about my body and what it is capable of,"\ufeff she wrote.<\/p>\n "I've learnt that being fit and healthy doesn't mean you're immune to these things.<\/p>\n "I feel blessed that I found these tumours before they got even bigger and started to have real implications."\ufeff<\/p>\n In July, the 23-year-old claimed gold and set a new world record in the women's 400m freestyle<\/a> at the World Aquatic Championships. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n
