For several weeks it was expected that Shane van Gisbergen<\/a> would move to the United States to take up a full-time NASCAR<\/a> contract \u2014 and that is now set to become a reality after the Kiwi signed a deal for the 2024 season.<\/p>\n

Trackhouse Racing has announced the signing of the three-time Supercars<\/a> champion, revealing the 34-year-old will compete in NASCAR's three national series next year.<\/p>\n

Van Gisbergen, who will split with T\ufeffriple Eight Race Engineering at the end of the 2023 Supercars Championship<\/a>, will feature across NASCAR's Cup, Xfinity and Truck series.<\/p>\n

The announcement follows his shock victory\ufeff on his NASCAR debut in July<\/a>, when he conquered a Cup Series race in Chicago.<\/p>\n

"This announcement means so many things to me," van Gisbergen said.<\/p>\n

"I'm proud of what I have achieved here in Australia, but I'm excited by this new chapter in my career and the opportunities that it brings.<\/p>\n

"I'm so thankful to everyone who has played a role in my career so far, especially Triple Eight Race Engineering, and looking forward to finishing our year with a few more highlights!<\/p>\n

Van Gisbergen thanked Justin Marks, the founder and owner of Trackhouse, for giving him the opportunity.\ufeff<\/p>\n

He's contested NASCAR on three occasions, with his Chicago victory preceding a 10th-place finish in the Cup Series and an 18th-place finish in his paved-oval debut.<\/p>\n

In Chicago, van Gisbergen became one of six foreign-born drivers to win a Cup Series race and the first driver since Johnny Rutherford in 1963 to triumph in his first Cup Series start.<\/p>\n

Van Gisbergen\ufeff has three Supercars Championship hit-outs remaining before he makes the full-time move to NASCAR.<\/p>\n
