The bodybuilding<\/a> world is mourning the death\ufeff of former Mr Olympia competitor Neil Currey, who died aged 34.<\/p>\n

Currey made his bodybuilding debut at the 2017 World Championships and finished fifth in the category of pro muscle.<\/p>\n

He also won gold at the 2022 New York Pro to secure his invite to the 2022 Mr Olympia competition.<\/p>\n

Currey finished 16th in the Classic Physique category that year.<\/p>\n

Currey's former\ufeff trainer, Milos Sarcev, said the news was "absolutely shocking" and "heartbreaking".<\/p>\n

"Absolutely shocking, heartbreaking news – that my former athlete died today," Sarcev announced on social media.<\/p>\n

"My last\/best memory of him was this smiling face after he won New York Pro and fulfilled his lifetime dream of qualifying for the Mr Olympia.<\/p>\n

"I am lost for words and filled with pain and sadness. My sincere condolences to his family, friends and loved ones. RIP Neil and God bless your soul."<\/p>\n

"Stunned and beyond saddened by the tragic news that Neil Currey has passed away at the young age of 34," a post read from the RX Muscle Instagram account.<\/p>\n

"We pass our most sincere and deepest condolences to Neil's family, friends, and to all of his fans around the world."<\/p>\n

Mr Olympia is the benchmark for bodybuilding and launched the career of Arnold Schwarzenegger, who won the title seven times.<\/p>\n
