Two-time Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka<\/a> has hit reporters with a bizarre response in her post-match press conference, after crashing out of the Grand Slam in the first round.<\/p>\n

The former world No.1 Belarusian needed two medical timeouts during her clash with American Jessica Pegula en route to a 7-5, 6-4 loss.<\/p>\n

Azarenka, had been one of 72 Australian Open contestants thrown into a hard two-week hotel quarantine in Melbourne, used an inhaler in her first-round match.<\/p>\n

And when asked about the medical problems she had faced in the fixture, she snapped.<\/p>\n

"I don't really know why we're getting asked about medical conditions," Azarenka said.<\/p>\n

"It shouldn't be a mandatory requirement for people to talk about their health issues.<\/p>\n

"I think that should be changed, unless players do want to talk about that. I feel … a new and adjusted rule should be in place."<\/p>\n

Azarenka is now the second former major champion to have lost in the first round of the Australian Open, after German Angelique Kerba fell to American Bernarda Pera 6-0, 6-4.<\/p>\n
