Port Adelaide<\/a> veteran Travis Boak<\/a>'s days could be numbered at the Power following the result of Saturday's semi final against the Giants.<\/p>\n

The former captain headlines a group of Port players out of contract at season's end, which also includes Scott Lycett, Orazio Fantasia and Quinton Narkle.<\/p>\n

A lifer at the Power, Boak has \ufeffplayed 347 games for the club since being selected with pick No.5 in the 2006 draft.<\/p>\n

The 35-year-old has \ufeffbeen named in the substitute role on four occasions this season, including for last Saturday's 48-point qualifying final loss to the Lions<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking on SEN's Sportsday<\/em>, club great Kane Cornes<\/a> questioned whether \ufeffBoak is the best choice to fill the substitute role, or whether his history with the club was coming into play.<\/p>\n

"Is he the right sub is the question?," Cornes said.<\/p>\n

"Are they just playing him as the sub because they're afraid to make a hard call?"<\/p>\n

Previously regarded as the side's most consistent player, Boak signed a one-year contract extension last year but his stats have since plummeted well below his previously outstanding averages.<\/p>\n

According to \ufeffSEN journalist Sam Edmund, Boak and the club are at an impasse on what his playing future looks like with Port Adelaide.<\/p>\n

"He's been told he's done at Port Adelaide, but he doesn't think he's done," Edmund told SEN's Whateley<\/em> on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

"So the question is, would he be willing to play elsewhere and who would take him? A celebrated, loyal player at Port Adelaide Football Club whose, in the mind of the club, playing days are done.<\/p>\n

"What will he look to do with his playing future going forward?"<\/p>\n

Even while averaging 27 disposals and six clearances per game last season, there appears to be no signs of rival interest in the three-time all-Australian.<\/p>\n

Cornes, who played alongside Boak for nine seasons, gave his insight into the situation.<\/p>\n

"He wants to go on. I think the club is saying, 'Look, Travis, we don't want you to finish your career playing SANFL. You're an absolute champion of this club and you're probably in the top five all-time Port Adelaide players'," he said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

"The writing is on the wall for him."<\/p>\n

Port Adelaide are yet to name their team for Saturday night's semi-final clash at the Adelaide Oval.<\/p>\n
