The Boomers' early exit from the FIBA World Cup did not hamper Duop Reath's future prospects, with the Aussie reportedly scoring an NBA deal\ufeff.<\/p>\n

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, \ufeffthe 27-year-old signed a one-year contract with the Portland Trail Blazers after an impressive World Cup performance.<\/p>\n

The South Sudan-born, Perth-raised Reath played with Portland's Summer League team before participating in the Boomers' World Cup campaign.<\/p>\n

He averaged 13.0 points and 7.4 rebounds in five games for the Trail Blazers and then amassed 43 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 assists in limited court time with the Australian team.<\/p>\n

He had 16-points in the opening win over Georgia and registered two or more blocks in most of the games he played.<\/p>\n

He'll join Aussie teammate Matisse Thybulle, who was traded to the Trail Blazers earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Reath's signing will contribute to Portland's lack of depth at centre behind Jusuf Nurkic, with the Aussie also posing a threat from three-point range.<\/p>\n
