Billy Smith will sit out the Roosters<\/a>' semi final against the Storm after fracturing his jaw in the second half of the Tricolours' elimination final win over the Sharks<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It is not known exactly when \ufeffSmith was injured, though he came up holding his jaw after copping a shoulder to the face early in the second half. T\ufeffom Hazelton was placed on report and fined over the incident.<\/p>\n

Smith will have surgery later this week, the Roosters confirmed.<\/p>\n

Smith joins teammates Joseph Suaalii and Joseph Manu on the sidelines after the duo also picked up injuries against the Sharks.<\/p>\n

Manu reinjured his hamstring in his first game back since injuring it against the Tigers in round 26<\/a>. \ufeffTrent Robinson admitted after the game that the club had made a mistake by rushing him back<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Despite earlier reports claiming it was "highly unlikely" that Manu would be fit to take to the field against Melbourne, the 27-year-old will consult the club's rehabilitation team this week.<\/p>\n

Suaalii did not feature after half time after failing a head injury assessment.<\/p>\n

The winger's head injury was deemed a category three (no action necessary) \ufeffby the Bunker's independent doctor, however the club doctor later noticed concussion symptoms in the sheds at the main break.<\/p>\n

Entering the NRL's mandatory 11-day stand-down period, Suaalii is unavailable for Friday's match.<\/p>\n

Several weeks after returning from an injured ACL, Sam Walker \ufeffwas visibly concerned by his knee and passed goal-kicking duties to Smith. However, the halfback has since been cleared of injury.<\/p>\n

Hooker Brandon Smith was also cleared of an ankle injury after having his ankle heavily strapped following an incident.<\/p>\n
