R\ufeffoosters<\/a> coach Trent Robinson<\/a> has been forced to address reports his star second-rower Angus Crichton<\/a> could make a code switch as Rugby Australia<\/a>'s aggressive recruitment tactics continue.<\/p>\n

According to News Corp, Crichton is on the verge of joining teammate Joseph Suaalii in playing rugby union\ufeff, having played the sport during high school at Scots College.<\/p>\n

After his side's comeback win over the Sharks<\/a>, Robinson explained he couldn't provide any clarification around the situation.<\/p>\n

"I know that he's played really well tonight and he's playing next week. That's as much as I can clarify."<\/p>\n

Pressed on whether he was aware of any approach, the coach was blunt in his reply.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"No, I don't know anything about it," he said.<\/p>\n

The reports come after Rugby Australia chairman Hamish McLennan made claims in May<\/a> that the organisation could afford to have Suaalii and Crichton playing the code in 2024.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffWithout being prejudicial to Joey's negotiations, we can easily afford Joey and Angus Crichton as well," McLennan told 9News.<\/p>\n

Crichton is on a contract at the Roosters until the end of 2024, believed to be worth \ufeffaround $600,000-a-season.<\/p>\n
