Q\ufeffueensland Maroons great Darren Lockyer<\/a> believes the Dolphins<\/a> should look to recruit a player in the mould of Isaah Yeo as they look to improve their creativity.<\/p>\n

The NRL's newest team suffered a number of injuries in the halves with Anthony Milford<\/a> only playing 11 games due to injury and suspension, with five of those appearances in the starting side.<\/p>\n

Sean O'Sullivan also missed 12 games in the middle of the season with Isaiya Katoa and Kodi Nikorima rotating in the playmaking roles.<\/p>\n

With Tom Flegler arriving next year, Lockyer believes the side has "plenty of experience in the front row" while the additions of Herbie Farnworth and Jake Averillo means they're well equipped in the outside backs.<\/p>\n

When asked on Wide World of Sports' QLDER<\/em><\/a> if halves is the area they need to improve, Lockyer agreed while suggesting they could also make a change in one specific position.<\/p>\n

"A really effective half too … \ufeffit's either you bring in an Isaah Yeo (style) No.13 that can be a bit of a ball player and if it's not that, it's a six or a seven," he said.<\/p>\n

"Without trying to be disrespectful to the current six and seven, I just think that's where they need to invest."\ufeff<\/p>\n

After finishing 13th this season, the Dolphins will welcome Flegler, Farnworth and Averillo to the side.<\/p>\n

Tom Gilbert, Connelly Lemuel\ufeffu, Jeremy Marshall-King, Tesi Niu and Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow have all re-signed as well while Herman Ese'ese and Oliver Gildart are two confirmed departures.<\/p>\n

\ufeffFellow Queensland great Wally Lewis believes there'll still be movement in the market from Wayne Bennett's side.<\/p>\n

"I do, I think they certainly will, Wayne will have his mind on the areas that they need … he's a very good judge as well, he'll know what those areas are and which players (they need) should they be available," he said.<\/p>\n

"He's a fair judge of talent … (but he'll) understand that one season doesn't make a footballer's career and he'll certainly offer the opportunity for (players) to reward themselves with a permanent position in the Dolphins team."<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
