Kyle Flanagan<\/a> is set to join his father and coach Shane<\/a> at the Dragons<\/a> after St George Illawarra tabled him a two-year deal, reports The Sydney Morning Herald<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old played his last game for Canterbury<\/a> against the Gold Coast Titans on Sunday and is among a raft of players departing the Bulldogs after their awful season.<\/p>\n

The signing will give the Dragons more back-up at halfback and hooker and help Shane, who's set to begin a three-year deal with St George Illawarra.\ufeff<\/p>\n

The Dragons have already let go young playmaker Jayden Sullivan, who inked a four-year deal with Wests Tigers.<\/p>\n

Kyle\ufeff is about to take up a stint with his fourth NRL club, having already played at the Roosters, Bulldogs and Sharks, where he made his NRL debut under his father.<\/p>\n

Kyle played nine NRL games with the Sharks across 2018 and 2019\ufeff, before leaving for the Roosters because he was stuck behind Shaun Johnson and Chad Townsend.<\/p>\n

He had a solid season with the Tricolours in 2020,\ufeff scoring the third-highest number of points in the competition and helping the Roosters to a top-four berth while filling the massive boots of Cooper Cronk.<\/p>\n

But he was offloaded from the Roosters to the Bulldogs because of the emergence of the prodigious Sam Walker.<\/p>\n

Flanagan's time at the Bulldogs then proved patchy with the \ufeffplaymaker being dropped from the first-grade side and being shifted between halfback, hooker and the bench.<\/p>\n

In his time at Canterbury, the Bulldogs finished last in 2021, 12th in 2022 and 15th in 2023.\ufeff<\/p>\n
