A clash with a teammate over an ex-girlfriend has resulted in champion British Olympic<\/a> swimmer Adam Peaty needing treatment for facial injuries.<\/p>\n

While at a training session, the Olympic gold medallist reportedly slapped the backside of teammate Luke Greenbank during a "cocky" exchange.<\/p>\n

Greenbank, 25, has been dating Olympic gold medallist swimmer Anna Hopkin, 27, who was previously in a relationship with Peaty.<\/p>\n

According to a report by The Sun, Greenbank struck Peaty leaving the champion with a bloody face.<\/p>\n

"It was absolute carnage. Peaty was being cocky and made a joke at Greenbank's expense, before touching his backside," a source told the publication.<\/p>\n

Eventually both men made up, at the behest of coaches.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Greenbank and Peaty were part of Great Britain's medley relay team that claimed silver at the Tokyo Olympic Games.<\/p>\n

Hopkin teamed up with Peaty to win Olympic gold in the mixed medley relay.<\/p>\n

Peaty took a break from the sport in March to focus on his mental health while he returns from a fractured foot.<\/p>\n
