Teen sensation Coco Gauff<\/a> has given her coach Brad Gilbert a whack during her fourth round US Open<\/a> clash against Caroline Wozniacki<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After clinching the first set, Gauff looked to be losing control of the second when Gilbert \u2013 who only started working with the 19-year-old in August for her US Open preparation \u2013 offered some advice.<\/p>\n

"You've gotta make her move. Don't let her control the centre of the court," microphones captured him telling her between games.<\/p>\n

But Gauff didn't want a bar of it.<\/p>\n

"Please stop," she said straight back.<\/p>\n

Following the next point – which Gauff lost through an unforced error – cameras caught the moment Gilbert motioned to say something else but bit his tongue.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Gauff would lose the second set, but\ufeff would rally in the third to win 6-3, 3-6, 6-1<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Andre Agassi won six of his eight grand slam titles with Gilbert in his box. He's also worked with Andy Roddick and Andy Murray.<\/p>\n

On Nine's coverage, Jelena Dokic<\/a> said similar exchanges were part and parcel of a fresh relationship between player and coach.<\/p>\n

"This is going to happen. They are quite vocal and they do talk quite a bit when she's playing," she said.<\/p>\n

"Maybe it's one of those things she doesn't like that as much. You have to figure it out, you have to balance it."<\/p>\n

Gauff played down any perceived tension in her post-match courtside interview.<\/p>\n

"Sometimes I tell [my coaches] to chill a little bit because I like to figure out matches my own way," she told former American pro Mary Joe Fernandez with a laugh.<\/p>\n

"Their advice helps so I do listen, (but) sometimes it's a stress reaction."<\/p>\n
