Sebastian Kris will play no part in Canberra's finals campaign after being slapped with a five-game ban following his send off for a spear tackle on Sione Katoa during the Raiders<\/a>' 24-6 loss to the Sharks<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The incident in the 60th minute was deemed a grade three dangerous throw by the NRL match review committee on Monday. \ufeff<\/p>\n

If he enters an early guilty plea, Kris will be suspended for five matches. However, if he fights the charge unsuccessfully, he will cop a six match ban. Either scenario will likely put him out for the first month of next season.\ufeff<\/p>\n

The winger's act cost the Raiders dearly with the Sharks<\/a> only leading 10-6 with 20 minutes remaining at the time it occurred.<\/p>\n

Kris made the tackle after Katoa leapt high to take a catch in the air when contesting with Jack Wighton.<\/p>\n

NRL<\/a> great Andrew Johns<\/a> described the tackle as "awful".<\/p>\n

\ufeff"It's just that adrenaline, he got in there with that adrenaline, picked him up, and unfortunately (spear tackled him) … that's dangerous, that was awful," he said on Nine's coverage.<\/p>\n

Speaking post-game, Raiders coach Ricky Stuart<\/a> \ufeffwasn't willing to comment much on the send off.<\/p>\n

"I didn't make anything of it, I haven't seen it again," \ufeffhe said.<\/p>\n

Captain Elliott Whitehead said it "probably warrants a send off in hindsight". \ufeff<\/p>\n

The Raiders started the game well when Jordan Rapana leaped over Connor Tracey \ufeffto score the opening try.<\/p>\n

Cronulla then hit back through Jesse Ramien in the 15th minute, but a missed kick from Braydon \ufeffTrindall gave the Raiders a lead at half-time.<\/p>\n

After an arm wrestle in the first 10 minutes, the Sharks switched on with Jack Williams scoring first following the break.<\/p>\n

Kris' send off helped Cronulla put their stamp on the game with Trindall, Ronaldo Mulitalo and Katoa also going over to seal victory.<\/p>\n
