The Titans<\/a> are an enigma – a team with four of the best strike players in the game in Tino Fa'asuamaleaui<\/a>, David Fifita<\/a>, AJ Brimson and Jayden Campbell and on their day, they can push any team in the league.<\/p>\n

But the Titans' downfall in 2023 was failing to go the distance over 80 minutes – four times during the season they charged to double-digit leads\u2026 and got run down.<\/p>\n

The inability to close out games cost ex-coach Justin Holbrook his job mid-season<\/a> when the Titans were on the cusp of the top eight – and things went downhill from there.<\/p>\n

Big Tino came of age as captain while Fifita had his moments but tended to drift in and out of games.<\/p>\n

The Titans' biggest problem was the lack of a class number seven to go alongside Kieran Foran in the halves.<\/p>\n

Games are won and lost by class halfbacks and the Titans simply didn't have a player capable of doing the job.<\/p>\n

Best player:<\/strong> Tino Fa'asuamaleaui was a handful every week, playing his heart out and trying to inspire his fellow forwards.<\/p>\n

Biggest disappointment:<\/strong> Tanah Boyd was handed the halfback job when Toby Sexton left the club, and struggled with the responsibility. At this stage of his career, he's not quite a starting NRL<\/a> playmaker.<\/p>\n

Key signing:<\/strong> Keenan Palasia has shown glimpses of class for the Broncos this season and could be a handy pick-up. But the Titans need more fresh blood to be a finals contender.<\/p>\n
