A\ufeffs the curtain closes on the Dolphins<\/a>' inaugural season, captain Jesse Bromwich<\/a> lifted the lid on a special moment during the club's first year.<\/p>\n

The \ufeffDolphins, placed 13th on the ladder, finished their 2023 campaign with a 9-15 record after defeating the Warriors<\/a> 34-10 at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday.<\/p>\n

While conceding that it is hard to celebrate the season when you fail to finish in the top eight, Bromwich said the team would forever remember the club's inaugural win in round one over the Roosters.<\/p>\n

"Round one, coming out and playing a really good side and running out for the first time at Suncorp Stadium, I still remember, we had board members after the game in tears with how emotional it was," he said<\/p>\n

"That would be one of the most emotional wins I've ever been \ufeffa part of."<\/p>\n

Standing in for Wayne Bennett\ufeff, Dolphins assistant coach Kristian Woolf said post-match that the Warriors victory was a reward for effort to finish the season on a high note.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffIt's great to finish on a positive like that," he said.<\/p>\n

"It was really important that we finished [on a] positive\ufeff. We have worked really hard, we obviously started the year really well. It didn't finish as well as we would have liked, and we had a few results that we probably could have made go our way at different times as well.<\/p>\n

"But to finish on a \ufeffpositive, and show a bit of character, it's a great message for everyone [and] a great lead into next year as well even though it's a fair way away."<\/p>\n

With Warriors coach \ufeffAndrew Webster opting to rest six players with the team's top-four spot sewn up, the Dolphins burst out of the gates.<\/p>\n

Jack Bostock scored the first blow with a brilliant leaping effort in the corner.<\/p>\n

Capitalising from a Warriors error, the Dolphins came up with the ball and Jamayne Isaako made a break before offloading to Bostock, who made a beeline for the corner and \ufeffscored.\ufeff The finish was labelled "spectacular" by Queensland great Corey Parker in commentary for Fox League.<\/p>\n

This opened the floodgates for the Dolphins with first-half tries following for Sean O'Sullivan, Isaiya Katoa and Isaako.<\/p>\n

The Warriors responded with back-to-back tries in the second half through Freddy Lussick and Marcelo Montoya, but it wasn't enough to spur a comeback.<\/p>\n
