S\ufeffpain's women's coach Jorge Vilda is reportedly on the verge of being sacked as the fallout from the World Cup<\/a> continues.<\/p>\n

Spanish football president Luis Rubiales is expected to be ousted after being stood down by FIFA, and then ordered to resign by leading officials in the country<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rubiales attracted a storm of criticism by kissing World Cup winner Jenni Hermoso on the lips without consent amid the celebrations in Sydney, and also grabbing his crotch.<\/p>\n

Coach Vilda – who had been the centre of controversy leading up to the World Cup – was also called out for appearing to grab the breast of a female colleague<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\ufeffNow the BBC reports the Spanish Football Federation is exploring the possibility of sacking Vilda.<\/p>\n

The coach was seen last week applauding Rubiales as the embattled president made a bizarre and defiant address.<\/p>\n

There have been protests in Spain and across the globe over the actions of Rubiales and Vilda, and 81 women players in Spain – including all 23 World Cup members – have reportedly \ufeffdeclared they will not represent the country again until the pair are removed.<\/p>\n

It was Rubiales who supported Vilda in 2022 when 15 top women players withdrew from the national squad in protest over the coach's behaviour.<\/p>\n
