T\ufeffhe Broncos<\/a> are prepared to throw away the minor premiership, with Kevin Walters<\/a> set to rest a host of his biggest players for this weekend's clash against the Storm<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to 9News Queensland's Ben Dobbin, the Broncos are expected to be without Ezra Mam, Payne Haas<\/a>, Reece Walsh<\/a>, Selwyn Cobbo, Herbie Farnworth, Kotoni Staggs, Adam Reynolds and Pat Carrigan on Thursday night.<\/p>\n

The decision comes after \ufeffa pair of training mishaps last week with Reynolds and Carrigan missing the win over the Raiders in round 26. <\/p>\n

"This is a brave decision by Kevin Walters with the Broncos on the verge of a minor premiership\ufeff," Dobbin told 9News Queensland.<\/p>\n

"He's looking towards the grand final and that illustrious premiership that he wants to win by resting some of his superstars. <\/p>\n

"We'll see players such as Martin Taupau and also Tristan Sailor come back into this side as well as Jesse Arthars."<\/p>\n

Walters' decision to rest his stars could shake up the NRL's top four, with the Panthers poised to leapfrog the Broncos if they beat the Cowboys on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n

Penrith, the two-time reigning premiers, currently sit two points adrift of the first-placed Broncos, but boast a superior point-differential of +301 compared to the Broncos' +224.<\/p>\n

Brisbane's decision also puts added pressure on the third-placed Warriors to not have a slip-up against the 14th-placed Dolphins this weekend. <\/p>\n

If the Warriors are upset at Suncorp and the Storm beat the under-strength Broncos, it will mean Melbourne finishes in third, while the Warriors would slide down to fourth.<\/p>\n

That scenario would see the Broncos and Storm face off in a qualifying final during the first week of the post-season, while the Panthers would host the Warriors in the other qualifying final. <\/p>\n
