A\ufeffnthony Mundine<\/a> has ripped Clive Churchill's son Rodney<\/a> for a "massive insult" towards Latrell Mitchell<\/a> after his text to South Sydney chairman Nick Pappas<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the scathing message, Churchill described Mitchell as a "complete myth who has the Aboriginal cause paramount and South Sydney second".<\/p>\n

Speaking to 9News Sydney, Mundine was strong in his criticism of Churchill.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffThat's a massive insult … as for me, and I reckon as for Latrell as well," he said.<\/p>\n

"We draw on our people for inspiration and motivation. Him being a proud black man is why they're going so crazy because they've got to try and put him back in his place and break his spirit."<\/p>\n

Calls have now come to remove Churchill from the grand final ceremony where he presents the medal named in his father's honour, to the \ufeffplayer of the match.<\/p>\n

Mundine believes that should happen. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"He's done \ufeffhis dash. I think if I was playing today I wouldn't have that respect for him," he said.<\/p>\n

After 9News Sydney reporter Danny Weidler told Nine's 100% Footy <\/em>that Churchill has since apologised for his text, Paul Gallen questioned "what weight does his opinion really have?"\ufeff, before predicting his role in the grand final ceremony will end.<\/p>\n

"I think that will probably change, I think you'll find this year he may cop a couple of boos if he gets up on stage after what he said, which I don't think was right at all," he said.<\/p>\n

Mundine was also asked about Mitchell's longevity in the game and whether he can continue to endure the criticism he's faced throughout his career.<\/p>\n

The \ufeffBlues representative encouraged Mitchell to not let his naysayers "break" him.<\/p>\n

"It depends how \ufeffstrong you are mentally, that's what they want to do, that's what they're trying to do, they're trying to break you my brother, they're trying to break you but you don't let them break you because you've got a strong family behind you," he said.<\/p>\n
