South Sydney<\/a> captain Cameron Murray<\/a> has spoken after his leadership was questioned amid an explosive week at the burrow.<\/p>\n

\ufeffRabbitohs assistant coach and former skipper Sam Burgess was sensationally axed<\/a> after it was revealed he raised concerns of double standards for star players Latrell Mitchell and Cody Walker.<\/p>\n

Mitchell was criticised for attending a Luke Combs concert and skolling a beer on stage<\/a> before the Bunnies lost to the Knights, with some critics asking why Murray and others didn't try to dissuade the enigmatic fullback.<\/p>\n

Speaking to The Sydney Morning Herald<\/a> on a weekend his team had the bye, Murray hit back at suggestions of preferential treatment at the club.<\/p>\n

"I don't think it's true at all \u2013 I actually think it's bullshit," Murray said.<\/p>\n

"What makes this club great is we look after individual needs. Not everyone is always on the same schedule.<\/p>\n

"Latrell might not turn up one day because he has another commitment. Other players might not turn up one day because of things like taking their kids to their first day of school.<\/p>\n

"To single out Cody and Latrell is unfair. To imply they're bigger than the team, it's just wrong.<\/p>\n

"Even the Luke Combs thing the other night, nobody at this club had a problem with it. Latrell had a good time seeing an artist he has always loved, and was creating memories.<\/p>\n

"Who wouldn't do that? Both Latrell and Cody have been unfairly judged in the media, and it's not the first time it has happened, particularly with Latrell. I will always back my teammates."<\/p>\n
