Indianapolis 500<\/a> winner Marcus Ericsson has confirmed he'll leave Chip Ganassi Racing to join Andretti Autosport in 2024 on a multi-year deal.<\/p>\n

The Swede has long been linked to a move away from the IndyCar Series<\/a> powerhouse amid discontent over contract terms.<\/p>\n

Ericsson's move has cast some doubt over ex-Formula 1<\/a> driver Romain Grosjean<\/a>, who has not confirmed his spot on next year's grid.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Stan Sport is the only place to watch the 2023 IndyCar Series, featuring Will Power, Scott McLaughlin and Scott Dixon.<\/strong><\/em> All the action streaming ad free, live and on demand<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

In Andretti Autosport's announcement, the team confirmed Ericsson would be joining Colton Herta and Kyle Kirkwood at the team.<\/p>\n

One seat remains unaccounted for, although Dale Coyne Racing incumbent David Malukas has been tipped to take that place.<\/p>\n

With Ericsson out, it's expected countryman Linus Lundqvist will take his place at Chip Ganassi Racing<\/p>\n

"I'm very happy and proud to be joining Andretti Autosport next season," said Ericsson.<\/p>\n

"Andretti is one of the most legendary names in motorsports, so it is\u202fdefinitely a\u202fdream come true for me to join this team.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ericsson is rumoured to drive the #28 car, currently driven by Grosjean, with backing from DHL.<\/p>\n

Team owner Michael Andretti hailed Ericsson's arrival at the team a major coup for the Indiana-based outfit.<\/p>\n

"Like everyone else, we have paid close attention to Marcus' success in the IndyCar Series and have been impressed with how quickly he proved that he belonged with the frontrunners in what is arguably the most competitive IndyCar field ever," said Andretti.<\/p>\n
