South Sydney's drama<\/a> around its coaching setup has taken another turn with assistant John Morris confirmed to be moving to the Wests Tigers<\/a> at the end of the season.<\/p>\n

The change had been rumoured for some time with the Tigers announcing the news on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

It comes after Sam Burgess left the Rabbitohs immediately<\/a> on Wednesday morning following reports of differences between him and Jason Demetriou<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Morris was also reportedly set to part ways with the club but instead will stick around for the Rabbitohs' finals push. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Throughout his playing career, Morris had three seasons with the Wests Tigers and will now join incoming head coach Benji Marshall on his staff with a four-year deal in place.<\/p>\n

Marshall expressed his pleasure at having the former Tiger on board. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"We are really excited to welcome John and his family back to our club as an assistant coach," he said in a club statement.<\/p>\n

Wests Tigers chief executive officer Justin Pascoe explained Morris' previous head coaching experience at the Sharks paved the way for his move. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"John was identified as someone who has been a head coach, knows what it takes to be a head coach, and how much hard work is required," he said.<\/p>\n

"John was a thorough professional as a player and he's taken that same work ethic into his role as a coach.<\/p>\n
