S\ufeffouth Sydney<\/a> coach Jason Demetriou<\/a> has been forced to apologise to at least one player after an awkward Instagram act.<\/p>\n

The Sydney Morning Herald reports<\/a> Demetriou "liked" a comment on an Instagram post following a round 13 loss to Canberra.<\/p>\n

\ufeffThe comment criticised the performances of Bunnies forwards Jacob Host and Liam Knight, saying "it's a wonder we didn't lose by 50 having those clowns pretending to be first graders".<\/p>\n

Demetriou's Instagram account "liked" that comment, reportedly sparking angst with the players, but the coach claims he wasn't even aware of it until informed by the Herald on Monday.<\/p>\n

\ufeffOn Tuesday the coach told the Herald he has gone back to the post to unlike the comment, and has since spoken to Host to explain the mistake. Knight has since left South Sydney to join Canterbury mid-season.<\/p>\n

Knight did not play for the Rabbitohs for six weeks after the loss to the Raiders, before being traded to the Bulldogs after round 19.<\/p>\n

\ufeffDemetriou is under pressure after a loss to Newcastle at the weekend, which means the Rabbitohs will likely have to beat the Roosters in the last round of the season to make the finals.<\/p>\n

The Herald also reported on Monday there is friction in camp over perceived double standards<\/a> with the way superstars Latrell Mitchell and Cody Walker are treated compared to other players.<\/p>\n

\ufeffMitchell was also seen skolling a beer on stage at a Luke Combs concert last week before a poor performance against the Knights, which culminated in him being sin-binned for a cheap shot and subsequently banned for one game<\/a>.<\/p>\n
