The Wallabies<\/a> have added\ufeff former All Blacks<\/a> coach Steve Hansen as an advisor ahead of the upcoming Rugby World Cup<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to The Sydney Morning Herald<\/a>, Wallabies coach Eddie Jones asked the World Cup winning coach to help\ufeff out, as they prepare for their warm-up match against France.<\/p>\n

Wallabies officials confirmed Hansen is in camp\ufeff before this weekend's match against France and is expected to be with Australia for about a week.<\/p>\n

Hansen, who led the All Blacks to victory over Australia in the 2015 World Cup final, has a long-standing friendship with Jones and is not being paid by Rugby Australia for the week.<\/p>\n

It's not an unusual occurrence to see coaches from other teams and codes visit the Wallabies. It's understood\ufeff Hansen does not have an official role this week but is giving advice to Jones when necessary.<\/p>\n

Hansen has attended Wallabies training as the team prepares for their first hit-out in France.<\/p>\n

The report states Hansen has introduced himself to Wallabies players and staff at training, however, he has not worn official Wallabies attire and it's unclear whether he will sit in the box alongside Jones at the World Cup.<\/p>\n

News of Hansen's involvement with the Australian team is likely to be met with shock from New Zealand rugby fans.<\/p>\n

Hansen is close friends with Ian Foster, who is in charge of the All Blacks at the World Cup.<\/p>\n

"Eddie is a rugby man through and through, he loves the game. He's quirky … and he has a massive work ethic," Hansen told The Sydney Morning Herald earlier this year.<\/p>\n

"But underneath it all he cares about the game and the people who are involved in it. He is a good analyst of the game.<\/p>\n
