Aussie boxer<\/a> Jack Brubaker used a pre-fight press conference to share an emotional message about mental health.<\/p>\n

Brubaker (17 wins-4 losses-2 draws)\ufeff will step into the ring with rising knockout artist Nikita Tszyu<\/a> (6-0-0) at Sydney's Hordern Pavilion on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

The pair sat on opposite sides of a stacked media table on Monday where fighters were able to trade verbal barbs before swapping them for punches in two days' time.<\/p>\n

\ufeffWhen host Ben Damon got to asking the main event boxers about their looming bout, Brubaker took an unexpected path.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffToday's a big day for me, quite an emotional day," he said with tears in his eyes.<\/p>\n

\"Jack<\/p>\n

"I'm going to use this platform to bring a bit of awareness to mental health and suicide. I lost my best mate \ufeffthree years ago on this day.<\/p>\n

"A bad day, a bad week, even a \ufeffbad year doesn't mean a bad life.<\/p>\n

"If only he could see the ripple effect of the hurt \ufeffleft behind. I'm going to draw on that strength and that emotion and put it to positive use."<\/p>\n

Wednesday's fight card is stacked with mouthwatering match-ups but the main bout in particular promises fireworks for fans.<\/p>\n

While 25-year-old Tszyu has recorded five devastating knockouts in his unbeaten career to date, his opponent is certainly no slouch.<\/p>\n

Brubaker, 31, lost just two of his first 20 fights, before running into trouble against Tim Tszyu and Stevie Spark in 2019 and 2021 respectively.<\/p>\n

\ufeffAgainst Tim Tszyu – who is now on the cusp of being crowned the WBO super-welterweight champion – Brubaker copped four rounds of punishment before his corner threw in the towel.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffI had a horrible camp," he said of that fight on Monday.<\/p>\n

"I was in hospital four weeks before, I showed up, \ufeffput on a decent performance, but no excuses.<\/p>\n

"I'm happy, healthy (now), if I get beat I get beat fair and square."\ufeff<\/p>\n

Nikita Tszyu was not overly interested in hearing \ufeffabout why Brubaker lost to his brother almost four years ago.<\/p>\n

The younger Tszyu sibling sent the crowd into hysterics when asked why he wanted to dish out punishment to Brubaker on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffIt's nothing personal against him, this is just a desire against every person I fight – it could be a little bit sadistic inside me," Tszyu said.<\/p>\n

"I'm not in this sport for the money, I'm\ufeff not in this sport because I'm trying to be a businessman or something, I'm in this sport because I want to hurt people.<\/p>\n

"I get pleasure out of this, this is kind of like a sexual pleasure for me. I'm going in there for the fun of seeing pain in people's eyes. No disrespect to you."<\/p>\n
