A\ufeffdelaide Crows<\/a> young gun Izak Rankine has been targeted in a fresh racist attack that the club has condemned as "hurtful and abhorrent".<\/p>\n

The Crows revealed in a statement on Sunday morning, less than 24 hours after their\ufeff controversial one-point defeat to the Sydney Swans<\/a>, that Rankine had been racially abused on social media.<\/p>\n

"There is no place for racism of any kind in our sport, nor the wider community, and it cannot be tolerated," the statement read.<\/p>\n

Crows chief executive Tim Silvers said the abuse was "totally unacceptable and disgraceful".\ufeff<\/p>\n

"All of us have a responsibility to call out this type of reprehensible behaviour," Silvers added.<\/p>\n

"Equally, we must also take the time to understand the hurt it causes the person who has been targeted, as well as in this instance all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.<\/p>\n

"From the chairman and board of directors through to our players, coaches, staff and volunteers, we are determined to use our voice and platform to continue to make a stand.<\/p>\n

"We are committed to playing a role in educating as many people as we possibly can."<\/p>\n

Adelaide said it had contacted the AFL<\/a>'s integrity department.\ufeff<\/p>\n
