Manly<\/a> coach Anthony Seibold<\/a> has teed off at the "absolutely ridiculous" decision not to penalise Warriors<\/a> fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad for a mid-air tackle.<\/p>\n

With the scores level and Manly's season on the line, Daly Cherry-Evans<\/a>' field goal attempt was charged down by the Warriors No.1.<\/p>\n

The ball rebounded to Reuben Garrick, behind Cherry-Evans, who jumped to take the ball. Nicoll-Klokstad took Garrick's legs out, and he landed flat on his back.<\/a><\/p>\n

Once on the ground, and likely assuming a penalty was going to be blown, Garrick let go of the ball, which constituted a knock on.<\/p>\n

Seibold said while the question about the technicality of the rules surrounding the ball wasn't in question, he argued Nicoll-Klokstad put Garrick in a dangerous position.<\/p>\n

"Absolutely ridiculous \u2026 that's a penalty every day of the week," he told media after the match.<\/p>\n

"Now, the rules say it's not \u2026 because the ball bounced or it wasn't a kick.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"But how many times do we pull tackles up for a slight crusher, give a penalty for someone slipping up from chest to the jaw. Fair dinkum."<\/p>\n

Seibold went on to say Garrick was receiving attention from doctors following the match and indicated he could be in doubt for the Sea Eagles' next clash against the Bulldogs.<\/p>\n

"Reuben can't run. We made a poor defensive error, but our fullback can't run and we're saying it's not a dangerous tackle.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"I'll get a phone call from (NRL referee coach) Dave Fairleigh tomorrow or someone from the NRL and they'll apologise or say, 'Oh, look, you know that's\u00a0the correct decision or, it wasn't a dangerous tackle'.<\/p>\n

"It was a dangerous tackle, he's injured. He couldn't finish the game and it's our season on the line so I'm pissed off about it.<\/p>\n

"But our CEO will cop a call from (NRL head of football) Graham Annesley and Graham will come out on Monday and they'll go through it, but that is a dead set penalty.<\/p>\n

\"NRL<\/p>\n

"It's two weeks in a row we've gotten dud decisions. Two weeks in a row against top four teams and you need a bounce of the ball, you need a call to go your way."<\/p>\n

"I'm not a coach who comes out and has a whinge (about referees), but I'm sick of it."<\/p>\n

Despite the outburst, Seibold was still able to find praise for his squad.<\/p>\n

"I couldn't be more proud of the boys. They fought hard but ultimately weren't good enough," he said.<\/p>\n

"The growth for us is how to handle some of those decisions."<\/p>\n

Cherry-Evans agreed, questioning the definition of a dangerous position.\u00a0<\/p>\n
