IndyCar<\/a> driver Jack Harvey has been dismissed before seeing out his second full season with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.<\/p>\n

The team announced on Wednesday that the 30-year-old who hails from the United Kingdom would not contest the final three races of the year.<\/p>\n

Harvey joined the team in 2022 and in the 31 outings with them only once finished inside the top 10.<\/p>\n

Stan Sport is the only place to watch the 2023 IndyCar Series, featuring Will Power, Scott McLaughlin and Scott Dixon.<\/strong><\/em> All the action streaming ad free, live and on demand<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

He had previously been a standout out for mid-field team Meyer Shank Racing, claiming a career-best third in 2019 and finishing inside the top 10 on 16 occasions in his 46 starts.<\/p>\n

This year, Harvey spectacularly bumped teammate Graham Rahal out of the Indianapolis 500 after a terrible showing by the team in qualifying.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"First, I would like to thank Jack Harvey for all of his efforts on behalf of RLL for the last year and a half," said Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing co-owner Bobby Rahal.<\/p>\n

"He committed fully to the team but for whatever reason, we weren't able to achieve the results that he or the team deserves and we wish him well in the future.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"We will use the final three races of the season to gauge other racing talent."<\/p>\n

\"IndyCar<\/p>\n

Harvey will be replaced by Conor Daly for the forthcoming event at Gateway.<\/p>\n

It'll be the third different team he's been with this year after Ed Carpenter Racing and Meyer Shank Racing.<\/p>\n

Beyond Gateway, the team will field another driver with a view towards 2024.<\/p>\n

Exactly who that will be remains to be seen, although Linus Lundqvist could make a cameo if Simon Pagenaud returns for Meyer Shank Racing after his concussion lay-off.<\/p>\n

"I'm very pleased that Conor has agreed to join us in St Louis," said Rahal.<\/p>\n

"He's been strong there and I feel that he can bring value to the team while also providing us with a strong effort. I look forward to having him with us."<\/p>\n

Harvey, meanwhile, lamented his unsuccessful spell at the team.<\/p>\n

"It's no secret that my time at RLL didn't go as planned," Harvey wrote in a statement.<\/p>\n

"It was not through a lack of effort. I leave confident that I put my everything into every moment as a member of the team.<\/p>\n

"I am thankful for the time and effort that every crew member put in over the last two years. This has been challenging for everyone involved.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"I love my crew and their unwavering support.<\/p>\n

"Only time will tell what the future holds. I am more motivated than ever to find a new home in IndyCar to showcase what I am capable of doing behind the wheel of a race car.<\/p>\n

"We are not defined by our failures but rather how we respond to them."<\/p>\n
