Canterbury<\/a> rookie Jacob Preston may have played his last game for 2023 after\ufeff being handed a lengthy suspension.<\/p>\n

Preston was sin-binned on Sunday for a hip-drop tackle that left Newcastle<\/a> playmaker Jackson Hastings<\/a> writhing on the ground in pain, and may have ended the Knight's own season.<\/p>\n

\ufeffThe match review committee has slapped the 21-year-old forward with a grade three dangerous contact charge. He can accept a two-game ban, or risk missing three games if he fights it at the judiciary.<\/p>\n

Hastings was seen wearing a moon boot following Sunday's ugly incident, which Billy Slater described as a "textbook" hip-drop tackle.<\/p>\n

Newcastle coach Adam O'Brien said Knights medical officials were fearing a syndesmosis injury.<\/p>\n
