Despite a convincing eight-point victory over Geelong<\/a> to secure its spot in the top four, Collingwood<\/a>'s flag hopes have taken another hit with captain Darcy Moore<\/a> suffering a left hamstring complaint.<\/p>\n

Moore went down in the first quarter of the Pies' win, being substituted immediately after reporting "hamstring tightness" from an innocuous running incident.<\/p>\n

The captain's untimely injury comes just a week after \ufeffBrownlow favourite and teammate Nick Daicos went down with a hairline fracture in his knee, ruling him out for a minimum of six weeks.<\/a><\/p>\n

Geelong premiership forward Jeremy Cameron<\/a> kept the Cats in the game, booting seven of Geelong's 13 majors, but it wasn't enough to see his side over the line.<\/p>\n

The game see-sawed with the Cats taking control early\ufeff, but the Pies' four-goal-to-two second quarter saw only a point difference at half time.<\/p>\n

It was Daicos' older brother Josh who lead the Pies' comeback, collecting 37 disposals, alongside a five-goal haul from key forward Brodie Mihocek.<\/p>\n

Moore spoke in the rooms post-game, saying he made a "conservative call" on his hamstring, which the club hopes will only be a three to four-week injury\ufeff.<\/p>\n

He will head for scans to confirm the severity on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

Collingwood coach Craig McCrae\ufeff downplayed the injury, saying Moore was "fine" post-game.<\/p>\n

"My understanding is he's tight, it's neutral. My understanding is it's not major," McCrae told media.<\/p>\n

"He's fine. Our instruction was it's a tight hamstring."<\/p>\n

McCrae was quick to move on from Moore, praising the "pressure" game the Magpies are known for.<\/p>\n

"I thought we re-established parts of our game tonight. We re-established that we are the best pressure team in the comp."\ufeff<\/p>\n

Ex-Magpie Ollie Henry booted a goal after the siren to reduce the margin to just eight points\ufeff, but the loss sees the Cats' finals hopes diminish significantly.<\/p>\n

The Magpies \ufeffnow face the third-placed Lions at Marvel Stadium on Friday, with the prospect of Moore reduced to the sidelines.<\/p>\n
