June 18, 1985 is infamous for one of the most notorious brawls in rugby league history – the street fight-like battle between Australia's Greg Dowling and New Zealand's Kevin Tamati during a ferocious Test match at the old Lang Park.<\/p>\n

The pair were sent to the sin bin after an on-field fight and continued scrapping as they left the field, resulting in both being sent off.<\/p>\n

But nearly 40 years later, a new controversy has broken out over the game, with Kiwi legend Mark Graham revealing the team physiotherapist used a banned substance to revive him after he was knocked out by a vicious head-high tackle.<\/p>\n

"I got KO'd early on\u2026 Crusher (Noel Cleal) and Blocker (Steve Roach) got me\u2026 I was out before I hit the ground but they got me back on my feet," Graham told Andy Raymond's UNFILTERED Podcast.<\/p>\n

"The then physio, and this was all news to me\u2026 I watched the game back on video to see what actually happened, so I said to him 'how did you get me back up?'.<\/p>\n

"He said 'I had some amyl nitrate, so I broke it under your nose and you just went back to doing what you were doing for the next 20 minutes'.<\/p>\n

"I was playing all right, too. I don't remember any of it, but I was playing all right."<\/p>\n
