Spanish world No.70 Paula Badosa has unleashed on the hard lockdown she had to endure after arriving in Australia, saying she was treated like a "criminal".<\/p>\n

Badosa is the lone Australian Open player to test positive to COVID-19<\/a>, and initially complained<\/a> upon her arrival down under prior to the tournament.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old did issue an apology after news of her positive test came to light, but appears to have made a hard backflip since.<\/p>\n

"It was a nightmare," she told Spanish publication El Pais<\/em>.<\/p>\n

"They treated me as if I were a criminal, they transferred me from one hotel to another escorted by police officers.<\/p>\n

"They should have raised better conditions to attend to the cases' knowing some players and support staff would test positive."<\/p>\n

Badosa launches her Australian Open<\/a> campaign on Tuesday when she faces Russian qualifier Liudmila Samsonova in the first round.<\/p>\n
