As the football<\/a> world got lost in the pandemonium of another World Cup<\/a> penalty shootout, one\ufeff star was praised for what she did immediately after the winning goal.<\/p>\n

England triumphed over Nigeria<\/a> in a shootout thriller after finishing 120 minutes of action\ufeff at 0-0 on Monday night.<\/p>\n

It came one day after the USA lost a penalty shootout to Sweden, having also gone the length of their round of 16 tie goalless.<\/p>\n

England survived an almighty scare, \ufeffand only cemented a spot in the quarter finals when Chloe Kelly rocketed her spot kick into the top left corner to clinch a shootout win on Monday.<\/p>\n

Kelly rightfully ran to her teammates to celebrate, but quickly turned back when she noticed Nigerian goalie Chiamaka Nnadozie lying on the turf.<\/p>\n

\ufeffNnadozie was distraught after being beaten by Kelly's kick which sent Nigeria out of the tournament, having beaten the Matildas comprehensively in Brisbane to elevate them through the group stage.<\/p>\n

As Kelly comforted \ufeffNnadozie a broadcast camerman attempted to get close-up vision of the scene, prompting the England star to sternly wave them away.<\/p>\n

The simple act warmed the hearts of viewers.<\/p>\n

"Huge respect to Chloe Kelly for not really celebrating and going straight over to console Nnadozie," football writer Charlotte Patterson tweeted\ufeff.<\/p>\n

"As well as telling the cameras to get lost."<\/p>\n

Kelly, 25, spoke after the victory but did not touch on her act to help the rival goalkeeper.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"This team is special," Kelly said.<\/p>\n

"It is amazing, anything that is thrown at us, we show what we are capable of.<\/p>\n

"We dig deep, we dig deep as a group, we believe in our ability; first and foremost we believe in what we are being told to do."<\/p>\n

England will play either Colombia or Jamaica in the quarter finals, and face a clash with Australia next, if both should win on Saturday.<\/p>\n
