The Matildas<\/a>' \ufeffFIFA Women's World Cup dream is well and truly alive after booking a spot in the quarter finals.<\/p>\n

Goals from Caitlin Foord and Hayley Raso were the difference as Australia swept aside Denmark<\/a> to advance.<\/p>\n

Sam Kerr<\/a>'s return from injury was the cherry on top for Australia, who will face either France or Morocco next.<\/p>\n

Mackenzie Arnold (6.5):<\/strong> Provided a couple of nervous moments at the back but overall was relatively untroubled and came up with a smart near post save in the first half from a Denmark corner.<\/p>\n

Steph Catley (7):<\/strong> Lacked the attacking verve that she showcased against Canada but provided solid defensive cover down Australia's left-hand side and looked to push forward as the game progressed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Caitlin Foord\u00a0(9):<\/strong> Outstanding throughout as she terrorised the Danish defence with her pace and trickery and deservedly scored the opening goal for Australia after latching onto a Mary Fowler through ball.<\/p>\n

Emily van Egmond (7):<\/strong> Struggled up top in an unfamiliar role in the first half, but looked more comfortable in the second half as she dropped a little deeper and provided the assist for Australia's second goal.<\/p>\n

Mary Fowler (8.5):<\/strong> Along with Foord was Australia's best player as she provided silky touches and a sumptuous through ball in transition for Australia's first goal, while also playing a crucial role in Australia's second goal.<\/p>\n

Alanna Kennedy (7):<\/strong> Solid once again alongside Clare Hunt and proved yet again how invaluable her leadership and experience is at the heart of the defence.<\/p>\n

Clare Hunt (7.5):<\/strong> Grew into the game after a nervous start but began to show her poise and class on the ball as the game progressed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hayley Raso (6.5):<\/strong> Looked threatening early on but was sloppy in possession when put under pressure and struggled to isolate her defender. Was on hand to sweep home Australia's second goal after a cushioned assist from Van Egmond.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Katrina Gorry (6):<\/strong> Gave her usual energetic performance but struggled at times to control the tempo in midfield and was loose with her passing game.<\/p>\n

Ellie Carpenter (6.5):<\/strong> Used her pace to help cover defensively and gave an overall solid performance without many opportunities to push forward<\/p>\n

Kyra Cooney-Cross (7.5):<\/strong> Australia's best midfielder with her typical neat passing game while playing the game at her own pace. Injected herself forward when she was able to and played a part in the second goal.<\/p>\n

SUBSTITUTES<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sam Kerr, on in the 79th minute (5):<\/strong> Provided the loudest cheer of the night as she came on for her first appearance of the tournament. Looked sharp and lively as she blazed a chance over from a slight angle.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cortnee Vine, on in the 79th minute (4):<\/strong> Didn't receive many touches with her limited minutes as she replaced a slightly below par Raso.<\/p>\n
