The NRLW<\/a> grand final replay has been marred by a send-off for an ugly tackle just after half time.<\/p>\n

Early in the second half of the Knights<\/a> 38-4 win over the Eels<\/a>, Kennedy Cherrington got her hands between the legs of Laishon Albert-Jones, and all but planted the head of the Knights interchange into the ground.<\/p>\n

Although Albert-Jones got up almost immediately, Cherrington knew she was in trouble and could be heard apologising profusely.<\/p>\n

But it wasn't enough \u2013 Belinda Sharpe gave her the marching orders and Cherrington virtually sprinted off the ground.<\/p>\n

"She showed plenty of remorse, Cherrington, she knew she was in the wrong. But we don't want that in the game," \ufeffAlanna Ferguson said in commentary for Nine.<\/p>\n

Billy Slater agreed it was the right call.<\/p>\n

"There was no intent, but the fact \ufeffAlbert-Jones ended in that position (was not good)," he said.<\/p>\n

Off the following plays Tayla Predebon and then Abigail Roache both scored for the Knights.<\/p>\n

It was a tough day for the Eels, who remain winless three games into the NRLW season after losing the grand final to the Knights last year.<\/p>\n

All told, seven Knights got themselves on the score sheet as the premiers ran riot at CommBank Stadium.<\/p>\n

The Knights scored twice inside the first ten minutes, before the Eels got their one and only of the afternoon in the 12th minute.<\/p>\n

The Eels enjoyed strong field position early in the second half but were unable to convert it into points. Cherrington's send-off ended any chance the Eels had of a fightback.<\/p>\n
