Mid-season Roosters<\/a> recruit Nathan Brown was sensationally sent off within 30 seconds of being substituted into his side's clash with the Manly Sea Eagles<\/a> on Thursday night.<\/p>\n

The Roosters celebrated the 10th anniversary of their 2013 NRL<\/a> title victory with a \ufeff26-16 win at the SCG, but the night was soured when Brown was sent off for clobbering Ben Trbojevic with a high shot just after the hour mark.<\/p>\n

The former NSW Blues enforcer exploded out of the line to make what turned out to be his only tackle of the match.<\/p>\n

When Ashley Klein decided against sin-binning him and went a step further, sending him off for the remainder of the match, Roosters skipper James Tedesco<\/a> unleashed.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"What?! Send-off?!" shouted an astonished Tedesco.<\/p>\n

"Sir, that's not a send-off.<\/p>\n

"F—ing hell."<\/p>\n

Klein explained his decision as boos reverberated throughout the Moore Park venue.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"\ufeffThe issue is you've run out of the line with intent there\ufeff, you've left the ground, you're off," Klein said to Brown.<\/p>\n

"It's a sin\ufeff-bin, I don't see it as a send-off," Andrew Johns said on the Nine broadcast.<\/p>\n

Brad Fittler added his two cents.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"Well he also mentioned coming off the ground," said the Roosters legend on the Nine coverage.<\/p>\n

"As you can see, as he comes up, coming into contact, that's where he whacks him in the neck, or in the chin."<\/p>\n

As Tedesco and Roosters firebrand Lindsay Collins towered over Klein and blasted him, Manly captain Daly Cherry-Evans butted in and told the infuriated Tricolours duo to shoo off.<\/p>\n

"Get out of here\ufeff!" Cherry-Evans quipped.<\/p>\n

Manly's loss was compounded by an injury suffered by mid-season recruit Matt Lodge, who twisted his right knee in a tackle in the eighth minute. The former Roosters prop left the field and didn't return.<\/p>\n

The Roosters kept their slim finals hopes alive in the round 23 win, elevating themselves to 12th position, and 24 points, after the first game of the round\ufeff.<\/p>\n

As the ladder stands with seven games remaining in the round, the Roosters are one win behind the sixth-placed Rabbitohs, seventh-placed Sharks and eighth-placed Cowboys.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Daniel Tupou snared two tries in the Roosters' win over the Sea Eagles.<\/p>\n
