Jillaroos legend Ruan Sims<\/a> has backed Millie Boyle to avoid a suspension after she was placed on report for a hip-drop tackle in the Roosters<\/a>' win over the Dragons<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Boyle's report and an injury concern to star centre Jess Sergis were the only two dark spots in a dominant performance from the Roosters, who racked up a club record 30-point win<\/a> by shutting out the Dragons.<\/p>\n

\ufeffBoyle was placed on report in the second half after inadvertently landing on the ankle of Dragons debutant Sophie Clancy, who came up hobbling.<\/p>\n

Despite being placed on report, Sims suggested the 25-year-old was likely to avoid a suspension.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffI\ufeff was watching it and the ruling for a hip-drop tackle is the majority of the weight must land on the leg of the player," she said on Nine's NRLW coverage.<\/p>\n

\"Sophie<\/p>\n

"As I watched it live, it looked like the majority of her weight landed on the ground. It's on report, we'll see what they come out with at 11 o'clock tomorrow."<\/p>\n

The Roosters will also monitor the health of Sergis, who appeared to hurt her left knee during a barnstorming run in the opening minutes of the match.<\/p>\n

\ufeffSergis had her knee strapped and appeared to be in significant pain throughout the first half, but ran out the majority of the contest before she was given a late spell with the match in the bag.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffWe spoke to her at half-time and she said, 'Look, \ufeffif I get around 15 or 20 (minutes) and there's a bit of pain am I OK to come off', and I said, 'You can come off whenever you want'," Roosters coach John Strange told Nine.<\/p>\n

"Then when we tried to get her off, she didn't want to come off, so we actually had to nearly drag her off the field to give her a spell at the end.<\/p>\n

"She's a tough girl, Jess, and I'm sure she'll be OK for next week."<\/p>\n

It was a welcome result for the pre-season premiership favourites, who were stunned by the Raiders last week.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffWe spoke during the week after \ufeffwe let ourselves down last week against the Raiders. It was about our attitude and what we wanted to bring today," Strange said.<\/p>\n

"We probably could've scored a few more tries in the first half, probably got a little bit erratic there when we made breaks, so that's something that we'll look at, but the zero against the Dragons is what we wanted."<\/p>\n

"From the final whistle last week I knew that this week \ufeffthe Roosters were going to be on," Sims added.<\/p>\n

"Defensively they really set the game up from the start, they packed their shoulders, they hit everything that moved, they dominated the contact, and they really pushed the Dragons back.\ufeff"<\/p>\n

The Roosters will take on the Sharks next weekend, while the Dragons will hope to rebound from a disappointing performance when they face the Raiders.<\/p>\n
