BBC presenter Chris Hughes has been warned by the organisation as he comes under fire for his 'Barbie' comment towards Australian<\/a> cricketer<\/a> Maitlan Brown.<\/p>\n

Hughes – a former Love Island contestant – was speaking to the bowler during Southern Brave's match in The Hundred<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\ufeffAfter referring to Brown as a "batsman" to start the interview, Hughes later asked how the team had settled in and bonded together.<\/p>\n

\ufeff"We watched Barbie the other night all together and it was really good team bonding and the group is gelling really well together," Brown replied.<\/p>\n

Hughes then quipped back: "You're a little Barbie yourself, aren't you, with your blue eyes."<\/p>\n

As Brown laughed, he added: "She's blushing now."\ufeff<\/p>\n

Since the interview, Hughes has copped criticism on social media with the BCC stating they have addressed the issue with him.<\/p>\n

"We have spoken to Chris and explained that his comment was not appropriate," a BBC spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

Brown's Brave side went on to win the match against Trent Rockets by 27 runs.<\/p>\n
