Marnus Labuschagne<\/a> and Usman Khawaja<\/a> confronted an English fan who was accusing them of "boring" play late on day three of the fifth and final Ashes<\/a> Test at The Oval.<\/p>\n

As the players came from the field at stumps, an English fan shouted "you're boring" at Pat Cummins<\/a> and Steve Smith<\/a> who came from the field first, and then to Labuschagne and Khawaja, who were next off.<\/p>\n

The Aussie No.3 stopped and confronted the man, asking repeatedly "what did you say?", before Khawaja told the fan to "calm down".<\/p>\n

The fan immediately folded and apologised, before Khawaja nudged Labuschagne to move on.<\/p>\n

The man was possibly aggrieved at the incredibly slow over rate in the last half-hour of play on day three, which saw them bowl just five overs in the last 30 minutes, including three from spinner Todd Murphy.<\/p>\n

He may have also been referencing Australia's slow batting in the first innings, when Labuschagne scored only nine runs off 82 balls.\ufeff<\/p>\n

After taking the ninth wicket of Mark Wood, the Aussies engaged in a long conference which ensured had they taken the final wicket, stumps would have been called, sparing Khawaja and David Warner<\/a> an awkward few overs at the end of play.<\/p>\n

Earlier in The Oval match, Aussie legend Ricky Ponting fumed after having grapes thrown at him<\/a> while presenting for Sky Sports.\ufeff<\/p>\n

On a rain-effected day four, the Aussies went a long way to securing a series win, as Khawaja and David Warner batted for 38 overs to take Australia to stumps a 0-135, needing only 249 for a famous victory.<\/p>\n

Australia has not won an Ashes series in England since 2001. Play will resume at 8pm AEST on Monday.<\/p>\n
