Paris is celebrating wildly as the French city marks the start of the one-year countdown to the 2024 Olympic Games<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\ufeffThousands of athletes and fans packed the River Seine to mark the occasion, where they will again gather in 365 days for the opening ceremony.<\/p>\n

Sprint legend Usain Bolt<\/a> helped carry the Olympic torch as the river was shrouded with French flags and Games banners.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffTrack and field has been my whole life," Bolt told media.<\/p>\n

\"Olympics<\/p>\n

"I'm always looking to uplift the sports in general, I've done so many great things at the Olympics.<\/p>\n

"For me to be a part of the 2024 Olympics, I'm really excited."<\/p>\n

The Olympic Games Paris 2024 will be broadcast exclusively on Nine and 9Now in Australia.<\/p>\n

Across the event, 10,000 athletes are expected to compete in front of an estimated 10 million spectators.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Aussie rowing star and Tokyo gold medallist Lucy Stephan watched the one-year celebrations from Down Under.<\/p>\n

\"Paris<\/p>\n

She spoke to Nine's Today<\/em> about her preparation for next year's Games.<\/p>\n

\ufeff"We've just come back from overseas, we had the World Cup tour and we had some really great results," she said.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffWe got some really good conditioning for the world champs which are coming up, and that's when we qualify our boats for Paris, so things are looking good."<\/p>\n
