Port Adelaide<\/a> great Kane Cornes<\/a> has called for major change at the West Coast Eagles<\/a> after another embarrassing loss at the hands of Carlton.<\/p>\n

The Blues finished 21.14 (140) to 10.9 (69) winners on Saturday afternoon, to hand the Eagles its 17th loss of the season. \ufeff<\/p>\n

The whole club has copped criticism for the results, in one of the worst seasons of its history and Cornes believes it's "affecting the integrity of the competition".<\/p>\n

"What it's doing is a disaster for the competition really … (that) game is over in the first 10 minutes and it's happened all year," he said on Nine's Sunday Footy Show<\/em>.<\/p>\n

"(Charlie) Curnow kicks another 10 after kicking nine against them earlier in the year, Taylor Walker has kicked 10 so what it does for the Coleman Medal race, a significant award in the history of our game, is not right.<\/p>\n

"It's affecting the integrity of the competition and West Coast are oblivious to it or they're too arrogant or they're too stubborn to do something about it but there needs to be a circuit breaker there."<\/p>\n

Cornes added that circuit breaker involves moving on key people, including head coach Adam Simpson. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"They need to move on from the coach and they need to move on from a whole host of senior players; (Luke) Shuey does his hammy again; (Elliott) Yeo doesn't play; (Nic) Naitanui doesn't play; they've signed (Jeremy) McGovern again, he's injured again – what is going to change with this footy club?," he said.<\/p>\n

"Adam Simpson during the week has said we don't lose players, I reckon you're about to because Oscar Allen's playing on Charlie Curnow at fullback, a position he doesn't want to be there, I doubt whether Tom Barrass is going to be there next year, talk over (potential No.1 pick) Harley Reid.<\/p>\n

"Something significant has to change at that footy club because no coach in world sport survives a record like this."<\/p>\n

Essendon Bombers legend Matthew Lloyd doubled down on the criticism, implying the club needs to undergo wholesale changes.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"I feel like it's a boys club over there and they are the most comfortable \ufeff18th ranked side with one win … they let go of the fitness coach, there'd want to be more than that to show why years and years of mediocrity has been there," he said.<\/p>\n

"You want to look at who's the best, Have we got the best CEO? Have we got the best development coach? Have we got the best football boss? List manager? Have we got the best coach? <\/p>\n

"They can't say yes because the players aren't showing that so I think they have to have a look at that, every key person in those roles."<\/p>\n
