I\ufeffncoming St George Illawarra Dragons<\/a> coach Shane Flanagan<\/a> has addressed the speculation around Ben Hunt's future at the club, stating the issues have been "put to bed".<\/p>\n

The Dragons skipper previously requested a release from the club in June<\/a>, but it was denied amid rumoured interest from the Titans and Broncos. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Despite his persistence to leave, Flanagan was strong on his stance that Hunt would stay. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"Ben will be there next year, I've spoken to Ben and I think we've sort of put that to bed and he'll be at the club next year," he said on 2GB's Continuous Call Team.<\/p>\n

Flanagan went on to provide further detail around his meeting with Hunt, which was held prior to the side's win against the Tigers on Thursday night. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"I met with him before the game, I put my coach's hat on with him and said to him 'Ben, as the coach I'm not letting you go, you're my captain, you're my halfback, I'm not letting you go and I've got the support of the club there, they don't want you to go'," he said.<\/p>\n

"We had that discussion, he said 'I understand Flanno, I understand completely' … the conversation went on and we started to talk about next year.\ufeff"<\/p>\n

The news around Hunt comes after Jayden Sullivan was given permission to speak to rival clubs, with Flanagan confirming the situation. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"Basically three doesn't go into two and Jayden's got the opportunity to have a look around," he said.<\/p>\n

"He could still be at the club, I think he's a good young player but if he's got the opportunity to go somewhere else we'll consider it later on.<\/p>\n

"That's not saying he will be or won't be there but these things happen all the time at clubs, he's a good young player and I haven't decided either way which way we're going to go there."<\/p>\n

In further Dragons news, Flanagan confirmed Moses Mbye will leave the club for the Super League on Monday, signing for St Helens as a replacement for Joey Lussick who is Parramatta bound.<\/p>\n

\ufeffThe current Manly assistant also said he's been in discussions with Bulldogs prop Luke Thompson, while Rabbitohs forward Hame Sele is likely to sign for next season.<\/p>\n
